Blue Line Planning Announces 20.1% YoY Growth for Q1 2009
4 New Deals In newly established Healthcare Division
Allentown, NJ – Blue Line Planning, Inc., today announced 20.1% year-over-year revenue growth for the quarter ending March 31, 2009. In addition, the company posted 2008 annual revenues of $5.3 million.
Founded in 2005, Blue Line is a leading provider of design and implementation services for financial performance management solutions; such as budgeting, planning, financial consolidations, executive dashboards, and reporting. Focused on the IBM/Cognos products, Blue Line has implemented over 350 systems for nearly 150 Global 1000 organizations.
According to Craig Thier, Blue Line CEO; “Despite challenging economic times, Blue Line’s focus on financial performance management delivers obvious value to CFO organizations, and our results speak to CFOs making continued investment in anything that gives them increased visibility and more levers to control their businesses.”
“We’re definitely seeing an increase in the companies interested in improving their planning processes,” commented Robert Kugel, Senior Vice President at Ventana Research. “This isn’t surprising since for the past couple of years most corporations have found that their carefully crafted annual budgets were totally obsolete right from the start. Our Benchmark Research shows that there is an important interplay between having the right planning processes and putting the right information technology to work to support them.” He added, “The other reason companies are focusing more on planning is that it is the cornerstone for all Performance Management initiatives. The economic downturn has focused executives on finding ways to improve how their corporation operates – not just in making it more efficient, but also enabling people to do their work more effectively.”
Also during January 2009, Blue Line introduced, in conjunction with IBM, the Integrated Budgeting, Planning, and Performance Management Solution for Hospitals. Though just launched, the product drove four Q1 contracts and increased the pipeline substantially.
“During 2008 we spent over $500k developing a comprehensive, packaged performance management solution for healthcare providers;” said Thier. “By using the IBM performance management products, and embedding our decades of domain expertise and experience, including my years as a finance director at two hospitals, we have been able to create a solution that installs quickly and provides completely driver based views of healthcare organizations.”
